With Roland's proprietary Ultra Scaler technology, you get scaling on all inputs, allowing you to use Full-HD and 4K sources simultaneously and output in multiple resolutions. You can also use the high pixel density provided by 4K camera sources in Full-HD for spectacular productions without any problems.
Upgrade to Version 2.0
With the free upgrade to version 2.0, the Roland V-600UHD transforms into a powerful one-person production mixer. "Automatic ROI" is a technology-assisted camera function that combines reliable facial recognition with Roland's multi-plane Region Of Interest. Version 2.0 provides all-in-one LAN control for multiple PTZ cameras from multiple manufacturers.
4K without limits
Switching to 4K improves the image quality of any production, so it makes no sense to use mixers that can offer more pixels at the cost of giving up the real performance of 4K.
High Dynamic Range [HDR]
The Roland V-600UHD is capable of working in High Dynamic Range [HDR] mode, so your events look spectacular. You see more pixels, which have greater quality and dynamism, with more detail in the darker and lighter areas of the image. HDR dynamic range provides well-balanced stage lighting, without oversaturation and easier to achieve than SDR. In addition, the V-600UHD supports and switches signals with SDR dynamic range.
Frame rate up to 60 Hz
With full support for frame rates up to 60Hz, the V-600UHD delivers a super-sharp video image, without the usual blurring that occurs in fast scenes when operating at 30Hz refresh.
More vivid color space
The Roland V-600UHD supports Rec.2020, the highest specification Wide Color Gamut (WCG), as well as RGB and Rec.709 standards. It is capable of displaying the maximum number of visible colors, offering greater color realism and accuracy, especially in reds and yellows.
10-bit 4:4:4 pixel color
Internal processing with 10-bit Color Depth reduces color banding and defines highly detailed computer fonts very well, making small print and other fine details easy to read, even when dramatically scaled and enlarged.
All formats from HD to 4K
Not all 4K content has the same aspect ratio. 4K content is always 2160 pixels high, DCI or "Cinema 4K" is 4096 pixels wide, which is 256 pixels wider than those used in UHD. The Roland V-600UHD allows you to switch and display content in the original aspect ratio, without cropping or framing.
Inputs and outputs needed for your event
The V-600UHD has four HDMI 2.0 inputs and two 12G-SDI inputs. It is perfect for events that require multiple computer and video sources. Each input independently supports HD, Full-HD, UHD-4K and DCI-4K input and scaling, as well as PC resolutions from UXGA to DCI 4K without a converter. Switching to additional destinations using the auxiliary buses allows you to easily include follow monitors at the foot of the stage, while the configurable multiview monitor shows at a glance all your sources, program and preamp. All outputs support down-scaling to Full-HD, for output to streaming encoders and other HD displays.
Capture all the action with a single 4K camera
You won't need multiple cameras to get multiple shots. If your production requires a wide shot of the stage, a medium shot of the group of speakers and close-ups of each speaker, the V-600UHD meets this need with the Region of Interest [ROI] feature. The ROI feature lets you focus a single 4K camera on the entire stage, and use the V-600UHD's scaling and shared input functions to crop up to eight "camera shots," which you can assign to the Roland V-600UHD's crossover points. Enhance your productions without increasing camera count, complexity or cost.
No camera operator
"Automatic ROI" is an assisted camera function, combining facial recognition with Roland's multi-plane Region Of Interest. When linked with Canon's XF705/400/405 cameras, two Region Of Interest windows on the V-600UHD automatically adjust rotation, tilt and zoom to follow two people in the scene, allowing for smooth, operator-free camera shots. Setup is very simple, requiring only a MIDI cable and LAN cable.
Creativity through compositing
The Roland V-600UHD supports Picture-in-Picture (PnP) windows that offer much more than just fixed inset windows. You can achieve results comparable to those obtained with external display processors, with fully customizable aspect ratios, sizes and input source scaling, allowing you to display anything anywhere. Combine flexible PnP with DCI 4K's ultra-wide pixel count to create eye-catching and spectacular setups.
Audio system integration
It is often complicated to bring audio embedded in digital video signals to the sound equipment at an event or performance. The V-600UHD offers superior audio management thanks to flexible 24-bit, 48kHz processing, allowing you to avoid problems before they occur. You can de-embed audio from the selected source and send it to an external sound mixer using the Audio Follow Video function. You can also extract the audio from the returning program from the same console and insert it into one or all of the video inputs to send it to the Internet, a recorder or a listening room.
Camera remote control and multiple PTZ
When PTZ cameras are needed over LAN, you can take control with the Roland V-600UHD. You can seamlessly integrate robotic PTZ cameras from JVC, Panasonic, Sony, PTZOptics, Avonic and other VISCA IP controlled cameras to optimize work, without the need for a dedicated controller.
Ideal for working with LED displays
LED screen technology has become a versatile creative tool for event designers, whether as a stage backdrop or as a giant curtain for music festivals. The difficulty comes when using the cameras with a bright LED backdrop and SDR mixer, as it is not easy to light a presenter or performer positioned in front of the LED, and they are seen as a shadowy silhouette. However, now you only need to use an HDR camera combined with the V-600UHD to correctly illuminate the subject in dark scenarios with bright backgrounds...
At corporate events and festivals, the LED displays used routinely exceed the 1,920 pixel width of the HD format. With support for DCI Cinema 4K resolution, Roland's V-600UHD lets you switch content to display images up to 4,096 pixels wide, expanding the possibilities for the ambitious event designer. The V-600UHD offers "to the pixel" output scaling with amazing quality, allowing you to directly connect an LED display driver with exact pixel dimensions and without the expense and increased latency of using a dedicated scaler to power the display.
