The Datapath VisionRGB-E1S DVI/RGB/HD video capture card is a single-channel PCI Express video capture card that supports up to 1920x1080 DVI or 2048x1536 analogue resolution. The card captures analogue/DVI data and stores it in three on-board buffers. This data is then copied via DMA to the host system for display, storage or transmission. When using a Datapath graphics card, the VisionRGB-E1S transfers the data directly to the graphics card, increasing performance. The VisionRGB-E1S sends the relevant parts of each captured image to each display channel and instructs each channel to use its graphics engine to render the data. This maximises hardware utilisation and increases performance.
When RGB/DVI data is displayed on a non-Datapath graphics card, the VisionRGB-E1S sends the data to system memory or directly to the graphics card, depending on the software used for display.
The VisionRGB-E1S video capture board is supplied with a software application to configure the timing and format of the input sources and display the data. Simply connect the external DVI or analogue source to the card, run the VisionRGB-E1S application to automatically detect the format of the video source and display the captured video in a window on the desktop.
The VisionRGB-E1S is a suitable solution for applications that require real-time capture of analogue or DVI sources, such as viewing analogue or DVI sources from PCs, MACs, industrial/medical equipment, cameras and other video equipment, video streaming applications and video wall controllers.
