Equally at home in the studio or as part of a mobile rig, the Focusrite Clarett 8Pre USB 18x20 USB Type-C rackmount audio/MIDI interface combines 24-bit / 192 kHz AD/DA conversion with low-latency monitoring and eight Clarett mic preamps with Air-Mode emulation of the classic ISA design. With low noise (-129 dB EIN), low distortion and a dynamic range of 118 dB, the high-performance microphone preamps deliver clean, open and transparent sound for accurate reproduction of the original performance.
In addition to the eight mic/line preamps (two of which are Hi-Z capable), the interface offers ADAT and S/PDIF I/O for expanded digital inputs and outputs, MIDI I/O for integrating MIDI equipment such as keyboards or drum machines, and a BNC wordclock output for synchronizing other digital equipment. Stereo monitor outputs, two headphone outputs and eight line outputs allow you to connect external monitors, headphones and processors.
The two rear-panel balanced 1/4" TRS monitor outputs allow connectivity to active studio monitors, while the two front-panel 1/4" headphone jacks allow critical listening via two-person headphones.
With six XLR-1/4" combo mic/line inputs on the rear, you can connect line-level sources such as external mic preamps, an external mixer or synthesizer sound modules, leaving the front panel inputs free for direct connection of microphones, instruments or other line-level sources.
The Clarett 8Pre USB includes a software bundle with Ableton Live Lite, plug-ins from Focusrite and Softube, 2 GB of royalty-free samples, and more. Also included is Focusrite Control software that allows you to configure routing and monitor mixes from Mac and Windows computers, or iPad, iPhone and iPod touch mobile devices.
