The SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art incorporates two SLD (Special Low Dispersion Glass) elements and one element with a high anomalous partial dispersion ratio and a high refractive index. These features help to produce a sharp image across the entire focal plane. The optical system also minimises sagittal coma for exceptional image quality and no lines produced by light sources even at wide aperture. It features a newly designed HSM motor for agile AF control with redesigned prime, and offers 1.3 times the torque of its predecessor. Even at low speeds, it delivers exceptionally stable performance. The updated AF algorithm helps ensure smooth autofocus performance, and full-time manual focus allows the lens to switch to manual focus simply by turning the focus ring, even during continuous AF allowing the user to quickly find the perfect focus without the need to touch the focus mode switch.
Dust- and splash-resistant mount construction incorporating a rubber seal. Front and rear lenses feature a water- and oil-repellent coating that is particularly useful in drizzling conditions, near the ocean, and in a wide variety of other conditions. It features Nikon's built-in electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism and is capable of receiving the appropriate signals from the camera body. This feature ensures precise aperture control and stable automatic exposure (AE) performance during continuous shooting.
