The Magewell Pro Convert Audio DX is an exceptionally flexible encoder, decoder and capture device with built-in support for Dante audio transport, allowing users to easily convert audio between Dante, NDI and SRT transport technologies, as well as seamlessly connect analogue audio, software and IP networks.
Dante has become the de facto standard for delivering audio over IP networks, with thousands of Dante-compatible products available from hundreds of manufacturers. The Pro Convert Audio DX can send and receive up to eight channels of audio in Dante unicast or multicast "streams" (audio streams). In addition to Dante, the device also supports uncompressed audio via the popular NDI media-over-IP technology, or compressed AAC audio via the low-latency SRT protocol.
By providing conversion between Dante, NDI and SRT, the Magewell Pro Convert Audio DX enables local and remote mixed-technology production workflows, combining products that support different standards and formats. It can also encode analogue audio into Dante, NDI or SRT streams for access to IP networks, as well as decode IP audio streams, in any of these formats and protocols, for analogue output.
Offering high reliability, guaranteed performance and the compact size of a dedicated hardware solution, the Pro Convert Audio DX can also operate as an audio capture device when connected via USB to a laptop or desktop computer. UAC (USB Audio Class) compatibility provides plug-and-play ease-of-use and out-of-the-box compatibility with popular video conferencing, streaming and production software.
The web browser-accessible virtual audio matrix included in the Pro Convert Audio DX allows users to route or mix any analogue or IP input channel to any analogue, IP or USB output. Multiple Pro Convert Audio DX units can be centrally configured and controlled via the Magewell Cloud multi-device management software.
