Sonicview 16 is a console that offers 16 physical input channels, each with a motorized fader, organized into two banks of eight channels, along with a motorized fader for the main stereo bus. Each bank of faders is a accompanied by a color touch panel that makes it easy to view all mixer channels or delve into details, controlling each parameter through touch. You can save fader configurations and retrieve them later to pick up where you left off.

Sonicview´s VIEW (Visual Interactive Ergonomic Workflow) system allows you to quickly and easily configure the console´s touch screens. You have three different ways to visualize your settings and each touch screen is independently configurable. This enables you to monitor and control any combination of settings on the screen of your chice. For example, you can monitor the levels of eight vocal channels on screen 1 while adjusting the equalization of a drum submix or monitoring the output bus level and compression curve on screen 2.

Tascam Sonicview utilizes a 54-bit FPGA mixing engine, which delivers the highest audio quality in its category, with continuous high-definition 32 bit/96 kHz sampling and 32 bit analog to digital converters. The result is exceptional performance even with Dante networks.

Sonicview 16 offers a wide variety of inputs for recording and mixing, including 8 channels with XLR micro/line inputs and 8 channels with XLR microphone input and balanced 6.3mm TRS line inputs. It also features TRS insert points on two channels, two pairs of stereo RCA auxiliary inputs and an XLR input for a talkback microphone.

Internally, this mixer has 40 mono channels and two stereo channels, which can be used, for example, to insert backing tracks. Additionally, it can handle additional audio inputs through expansion slots, manage sound sources from anywhere via Dante and mix dozens of DAW tracks. It also features eight DCAs, allowing for easy control of channel groups.

The Class 1 HDIA (High Definition Instrumentation Architecture) microphone preamplifiers feature an excellent equivalent input moise ratio (EIN), signal to noise ratio, distortion ratio and frequency response. The microphone inputs can handle signal levels up to +32 dBu, providing ample headroom for sudden level increases.

The integrated 32 input/32 output USB audio interface makes Sonicview an ideal choice for recording studios and live events, allowing you to record in your favorite DAW at a frequency of up to 96 kHz with the same 32 bit precision used throughout the console. Simultaneously, you can capture the main mix directly onto the integrated stereo SD recorder. A port on the top panel also enables stereo recording to a USB flash drive.

Optionally, you can install a mult-track recording card (IF-MTR32), which allows you to capture 32 audio tracks directly onto an SDXC card. The recorder supports punch-in/punch-out for all 32 tracks simultaneously, as well as pre-recording, self-recording and markers. It also automatically saves and closes the file every 60 seconds during recording to prevent data loss.

TASCAM Sonicview 16 offers a wide variety of output buses with powerful signal processing and routing options. In addition to the main stereo bus, you can configure 22 additional output buses as subgroups, auxiliaries or matrices. All output buses are equipped with 31-band graphic equalizer, real-time analyzer functions, a 4-band parametric equalizer, compressor/limiter, delay, as well as Solo, Pan and Mute functions.

Dante audio over IP networks can integrate thousands of system for concert tours as well as installations in recoding studios, radio stations, boardrooms, town halls and many other venues. Tascam Sonicview consoles can serve as the hub for all these system using their integrated 64 input and 64 output Dante interface, supporting AES67 mode, SMTPE 2110 mode and Dante Domain Manager. Its two Dante ports allow for redundant streams. By combining Dante with Sonicview´s built-in recording capabilities, you can mix and record concerts, conferences, and more from any network location.

Sonicview features 16 XLR line outputs and two XLR monitor outputs. However, if that´s not sufficient, you can add more analog I/O, MADI or AES/EBU with an optional expansion card. To further expand the system, you can add one or more Dante SB-16D network stage boxes with 16 inputs and 16 outputs. It can be used as a floor box or rack-mounted.

You can always have full control of your Tascam Sonicview mixer. Just connect a Wi-Fi router to the Ethernet port and use the free control software for Windows, macOS and iPadOS. This allows you to manage your Sonicview from virtually anywhere on the premises. In addition to audio inputs and outputs, Dante and USB ports, Sonicview is equipped with a GPIO interface (DB25). It also has BNC Wordclock ports for digital audio Synchronization.
