The Sonnet M.2 8x4 Silent Gen4 PCIe is a full-height, full-length PCIe 4.0 card with a 48-lane PCIe 4.0 switch and x16 interface, designed to support maximum performance. For many professional workflows, both data transfer speed and total disk storage capacity are critical to good operation. Generally M.2 NVMe PCIe SSDs offer great performance, but limited capacity. The Sonnet M.2 8x4 Silent Gen4 PCI card allows up to eight NVMe SSDs to be mounted in a single PCIe x16 card slot for up to 64TB of total storage, combining their capacities for extraordinary performance. 

The Sonnet M.2 8x4 Silent Gen4 PCIe card is ideal for use in Sonnet's Echo I desktop PCIe expansion system. It enables work at 4Kp60 in 32-bit linear, even 4Kp24 with high channel count EXRs (or 8K effects), or situations where the computer's on-board storage would be congested. Thanks to the Sonnet M.2 8x4 Silent Gen4 PCIe Card many operations can be completed successfully and without delay.

Sonnet's silent cooling puts an end to thermal throttling. Sonnet has designed the M.2 8x4 Silent Gen4 PCIe card with an effective passive cooling solution: instead of relying on fans that can be noisy, Sonnet's silent cooling effectively counteracts thermal throttling, allowing SSDSs to maintain sustained peak performance without noise pollution.

Installation of the Sonnet M.2 8x4 Silent Gen4 PCIe card is very simple, the necessary drivers are installed automatically. The M.2 8x4 uses the computer's operating system utilities to format the SSD drives. Monitoring of the SSD status is also done via S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) data reports.
