Skaarhoj ATEM-TCP Link - TCP/IP interface for Blackmagic ATEM mixers
The Skaarhoj interface TCP Link for ATEM bi-directionally converts the Blackmagic ATEM mixer's proprietary protocol into TCP/IP commands that any generic controller can recognise. Most of the functions of these professional video mixers can be controlled from a Skaarhoj Atem TCP Link.
Using TCP Link it is possible to connect to the Atem directly, without using the ATEM Software Control Panel on a computer, and execute commands. This would allow one or more Atem mixers to be included in AV automation projects with systems such as Crestron or Extron, where you can either run an action on the Atem from an event on any other device, or use events on the Atem to trigger actions on other devices. Each interface can control a maximum of 7 clients, always depending on the Atem model to be controlled and the capabilities of the Atem.
Blackmagic Design's ATEM mixers use a proprietary protocol for intercommunication. Their integration with AV control systems cannot, a priori, be achieved via their Ethernet interface. For this reason, Skaarhoj has created this tool, the ATEM-TCP Link, which provides a simple TCP interface for Blackmagic video mixers, capable of controlling any function of the mixer from an automation controller or any IP controller.
Using TCP Link it is possible to connect to the Atem directly, without using the ATEM Software Control Panel on a computer, and execute commands. This Skaarhoj interface transmits status changes of the video mixer, while accepting and forwarding commands from other devices to the switcher. This would allow one or more Atem mixers to be included in AV automation projects with systems such as Crestron or Extron, where you can either execute an action on the Atem from an event on any other device, or use events on the Atem to trigger actions on other devices. Each interface can control a maximum of 7 clients, always depending on the Atem model to be controlled and the network capabilities.
