The Fonestar FO-474-RX is a HDMI over IP receiver. The main function of the FO-473-TX transmitter and FO-474-RX receiver set is to transmit HDMI and IR remote control signals over long distances without signal loss or quality loss. With this extension and distribution kit, a 1080p@60Hz HDMI signal can reach up to 120m, using a Cat 6 cable. In addition, it is possible to increase this maximum distance by using Gigabit switches (1Gbps) with IGMP Snooping function, extending an additional 120 meters with each switch added to the installation. All this through a quick and easy PnP installation.
The FO-474-RX incorporates HDMI signal compression and transmission technology by HDbitT, using a reduced bandwidth (18Mbps). Thanks to this, the system is easily scalable and its connection can be direct or point-to-multipoint. The FO-473-TX transmitter can be connected directly to a single FO-474-RX receiver, by a direct cable or via Ethernet network; or to several receivers (up to 253 receivers), via Ethernet network.
The advantages of using data cables instead of HDMI cables are numerous. Data cables make it easier to run cabling through pipes, walls or ceilings, dramatically increase the distance between the HDMI equipment and the monitor or projector, reduce cabling costs, and use RJ-45 connectors that can be easily installed without the need for soldering.
IP video distribution is ideal for installations where the video source is far away from the TV or projector and need some versatility to expand the installation, such as exhibitions, showcases, training rooms, conference rooms, worship or sports centers, bars, restaurants, etc.
