The Fonestar FO-473-TX is a HDMI transmitter for the extension or distribution of signals over IP. The main function of the FO-473-TX transmitter and FO-474-RX receiver set is to transmit HDMI and remote control signals over long distances without loss of signal or quality. With this extension, a 1080p@60Hz signal can reach up to 120m using a Cat 6 cable. In addition, it is possible to increase this maximum distance with the use of Gigabit switches (1Gbps) and IGMP Snooping function, extending an additional 120 meters with each switch added to the installation. All this through a quick and easy PnP installation.
The FO-473-TX uses HDMI signal compression and transmission technology using HDbitT, with reduced bandwidth (18Mbps). Thanks to this, the system is easily scalable and its connection can be direct point-to-point or point-to-multipoint. The FO-473-TX transmitter can be connected directly to a single FO-474-RX receiver, via a direct cable, or via Ethernet network; or to several receivers (up to 253 receivers), via Ethernet network.
The advantages of using data cables instead of HDMI cables are numerous. It facilitates cabling installations through pipes, walls or ceilings, dramatically increases the distance between the equipment emitting the HDMI signal and the monitor or projector, reduces the cost of cabling and uses RJ-45 connectors that can be easily installed without the need for soldering.
It is ideal for installations where the video source is far from the TV or projector and need some versatility to expand the installation, such as exhibitions, showcases, training rooms, conference rooms, sports or worship centers, bars, restaurants, etc..
