Sonnet's Breakaway Puck Radeon RX 5700 eGPU is a portable eGPU based on AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT and Thunderbolt 3 connection. Its mission is to be able to add a high-performance graphics card to a laptop with Thunderbolt 3 connection, in order to work with post-production software, video editing, animation, colour correction, rendering and digital graphic composition, in a much more agile way, speeding up the workflow. It also provides connectivity for multiple displays, with one DisplayPort output, one HDMI output and an extra Thunderbolt 3 port.
The Breakaway Puck eGPU fits comfortably in a backpack or bag along with your laptop when you need GPU acceleration on the go. Connected to your computer with a single 0.5 metre Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps) cable (included), it provides 60W of power supply, meaning it will power and charge your computer while connected, even when not in use. This allows you to use your computer without its power supply. If you're looking for an ultra-lightweight and portable way to build a professional audio or video post-production system, the Puck is the perfect complement to inject processing power. With a compact size of 6 inches wide, 5.1 inches high by 2 inches tall, the Breakaway Puck eGPU takes up minimal space.
With the optional VESA mounting bracket kit, you can free up desktop space and mount the eGFX Breakaway Puck to the back of a monitor with VESA mounting holes (VESA 75 and VESA100 patterns are supported). The bracket is secured with the included hardware, and provides easy cable management. To further reduce cable clutter, Sonnet includes a 0.5 metre DisplayPort cable in the kit to connect the drive and display. The mounting bracket kit also includes parts that allow it to attach to virtually any stand or monitor arm.
