The Canon XF605 records in XF-AVC format in 4K at 60P/50P/30P/25P/24P with color sampling: YCC 4:2:2:2 10-bit and Full-HD 60P/60i/50P/50i/30P/25P/24P also in 4:2:2:2 10-bit. If a smaller file format is required, you can record in MP4 (HEVC) in 4K at 60P/50P/30P/25P/24P and 4:2:2:2 10-bit or 4K 4:2:0 at 10-bit.
Output options include HDMI, USB (1x type A powered) and 1x type C with PTP and UVC support, 12G-SDI output with BNC connector and Ethernet connector (RJ45).
The camera has a Canon L-Series lens with a compact 15x wide-angle zoom and 3 rings including a 5-axis IS created to capture incredible 4K UHD images and also covering from wide-angle 25.5mm to 382.5mm (35mm equivalent). Minimum focusing distance is 10mm at the wide-angle end, 60cm at all focal lengths. There are also motor-driven ND filters: 1/4, ND 1/16 and ND 1/64 that will be helpful for outdoor shooting.
This Canon XF605 camera uses a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD where you can select the AF point, face AF subject selection and with manual focus the focus assist reference point selection. Also, this LCD screen has a Zebra reference level of 70% or 100% and the peaking can also be displayed correctly.
On the audio side, the Canon XF605 has 3-pin XLR connectors with 48V phantom power, line and microphone options with removable handle. It also has a 3.5mm microphone input connector (2.4 VDC power supply voltage) and a built-in microphone.
In terms of usability, it has 11 customizable buttons with more than 100 functions that can be assigned through the menu. In the upper part it has a shoe for accessories in which you could place a torch (not included) or other accessory that the operator requires, in addition you can also place an external microphone.
