Sonnet xMac Studio with Echo I - 1x PCIe Chassis and Expansion Box for Mac Studio
The Sonnet xMac Studio integrates a Mac Studio into a 3RU chassis with room for a PCIe expansion module. A Mac Studio offers extraordinary processing power and connectivity. For many creative professionals, expanding their workstations using PCIe cards for audio and video post-production projects is imperative. Sonnet has designed the xMac Studio/Echo I to offer professional workflow flexibility. A rugged steel enclosure protects the Mac Studio, while a single-slot PCIe expansion module allows you to add a PCIe card to your system. The xMac Studio enclosure also features a high-performance thermal design, ensuring optimal ventilation of the system hardware.
For many creative professionals, expanding their workstations using PCIe cards for audio and video post-production projects is not an option, but a necessity. The Sonnet xMac Studio is a rugged 3U rack-mountable steel enclosure that attaches a Mac Studio with a choice of Sonnet PCIe expansion module (Echo III or Echo I). In the case of the xMac Studio / Echo I combination, the Echo I expansion module provides a PCIe slot compatible with most professional PCIe cards on the market.
Convenient front-panel operation allows you to power up the Mac Studio with its own dedicated front power button, connect USB devices via a 4-port USB-A hub, and access the computer's front ports and SD card slots. When equipped with an Echo I PCIe card expansion module, three rear-panel locking thumbscrews allow easy removal and access to the module and PCIe cards through the front without removing the front panel. The xMac Studio design allows cables to be connected and disconnected without removing the Mac Studio from the enclosure.
An opening in the top of xMac Studio ensures unobstructed wireless signal access. The xMac Studio is designed to allow normal WiFi and Bluetooth wireless operation in most configurations (depending on the type of rack and position in the rack), so you can use wireless devices and iOS device control applications.
The Sonnet xMac Studio allows you to secure the Mac Studio without reterning the hot air recirculating in the rack, supporting its thermal design to keep it as cool in a rack as it is on a desktop. Ventilation holes in the front panel of the enclosure and an enclosed chamber under the Mac Studio ensure the computer can draw cool air through its base, while the fully open back allows it to expel hot air unimpeded.
SSD Space: Store up to three Thunderbolt or USB SSDs under Mac Studio
xMac Studio provides space under the computer to accommodate up to three Thunderbolt or USB SSDs (sold separately) up to 3.2 inches wide by 0.75 inches high. Simply remove the rear access panel, apply the supplied adhesive magnet to the bottom of the SSD, insert the SSD and connect it to the computer, then reinstall the panel. The space is also suitable for other slim bus-powered devices.
