The new Tamron SP 70-200mm F/2.8 G2 telephoto lens has been redesigned from the previous model by improving optical performance and Vibration Compensation (VC), increasing AF speed and accuracy, and reducing the Minimum Object Distance (MOD) for increased flexibility. In addition, thanks to compatibility with Tamron teleconverters, a longer focal length can be achieved. The minimum object distance has been reduced to 0.95m, a small distance for a telephoto lens. Approaching the object/subject and zooming to 200mm together with an aperture of F2.8 will result in great bokeh.
 
The Tamron lens provides high image quality and perfects that blur, due to the optical design characteristic. It has several XLD (extra-low dispersion) and LD (low dispersion) lenses so that chromatic aberrations are eliminated throughout the zoom range ensuring optimum resolution. 
 
Continuing with image quality, the eBAND coating designed exclusively for this new zoom offers superior anti-reflective properties, greatly minimizing flare and ghosting.
 
As a good telephoto lens, it is very accurate when applied to precision work (such as sports, events or wildlife) its ring-type motor (USD, ultrasonic silent movement) together with the two high-performance microcomputers, ensures outstanding AF speed and precision. Another feature is the ability to override manual focus allowing fine adjustments to be made while using AF, without the need to switch from AF mode to MF mode.
 
Tamron's VC image stabilization performance is the best in its class according to CIPA standards. In addition, this lens offers a choice of three VC modes, including one exclusively for panoramas. You can choose the stabilization mode according to the shooting conditions and have the ability to shoot sharp, shake-free handheld shots, even in low light.
 
The Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8 DI VC USD G2 is compatible with a multitude of Tamron accessories, such as the TAP-in ConsoleTM that provides a USB connection to your computer for easy lens firmware updates and customization of functions such as fine-tuning autofocus and VC.
