The new Samyang Xeen Meister 50mm T1.3 are ultra-bright 8k Full Frame prime lenses.
With the professional needs of cinematographers and focus pullers in mind, Samyang has created a robust, premium design and high quality lens.
The outstanding ultra-bright T1.3 aperture provides a lens with high image quality and clarity in a variety of lighting situations. It creates a shallow depth of field look at its widest aperture to deliver more dramatic images where the prominence of the subject is enhanced. Combined with its 13-blade aperture, as opposed to the 11 blades of the previous series, it is possible to obtain a neat bokeh effect with rounded shapes.
With an image circle of 43.2mm, the SAMYANG XEEN MEISTER range is capable of capturing images up to 8K and is a great choice for use with large sensor cameras. In order to withstand demanding recording conditions, its metal construction has been enhanced with a front lens made of aluminum to extend its durability.
The complete series includes models with PL, Sony E or Canon EF mount.
The X-coating technology incorporated in the series consists of a lens coating to control internal reflections, flares and ghosting, and allows the lenses to maintain color uniformity across their lenses. Cinematographers who aspire to achieve their own cinematic style can now gain aesthetic control over the final images.
Samyan has included a number of enhancements to ease the functions of the cinematographer, such as two iris and focus scales on either side of the lens, which are treated to be visible in dark environments. The focusing range is increased over previous series and reaches 300° for precise and smooth focus shift.
A front diameter of 114mm is shared with the rest of the lenses in the range for quick lens exchange. Likewise, the focus and iris rings are located at the same distance, which avoids the need to modify accessories such as the Matte Box or Follow Focus when changing focal length.
The XEEN Meister 50mm T1.3 PL-mount model features the innovative Cooke/i technology, which enables automatic digital registration of recording metadata corresponding to the optics, such as aperture, frame rate or focal length.
Up to 8K image capture, exceptional aperture and an attractive and robust design are the hallmarks of the XEEN Meister series, which allows it to compete with top-level brands such as Cooke or Zeiss.
