Genelec 7040A studio subwoofer, in a dark gray finish, is the perfect solution for those seeking precise low-frequency reproduction in small production spaces or environments not specifically designed for monitoring. This ultra-compact subwoofer is designed for music creation, audio and video post-production and mobile units.

The 7040A model is the ideal complement for use with Genelec 8010 and 8020 active monitors, offering an extensive low-frequency response down to 30 Hz. Genelec´s patented Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) technology provides precise reproduction and monitoring of low-frequency content. In a stereo system, the subwoofer can produce 100 dB SPL without distorsion, thanks to its 6,5" woofer and powerful Class D amplifier.

It features balanced XLR connectors for audio inputs and outputs. The 7040A subwoofer´s bass management unit divides the input into low and high-frequency components. Frequencies below 85 Hz are reproduced by the subwoofer, while frequencies above 85 Hz are routed through the subwoofer´s output connectors to the main monitors.

The subwoofer´s sensitivity can be adjusted from +12 to -6 dBu to easily match the subwoofer´s sound level with different monitors.

Two Bass Roll-Off switches allow you to adjust the bass response to compensate for the acoustic environment in three steps of 2 dB. Additionally, two switches allow you to align the subwoofer´s phase with the monitors, adjustable in 90-degree increments between 0 and -270 degrees.
