Tascam DR-70D - 6 input and 4 track multitrack field recorder

 
For film, television and webcasting applications where you want to record live and ambient sound, the Tascam DR-70D multitrack field recorder is the ideal companion for your DSLR. Capture up to four tracks of high-resolution audio from external sources and built-in omnidirectional microphones, route audio to and from your camera, and monitor comfortably through headphones. With strap handles, a tripod mounting socket and camera screw attachment, the DR-70D is compatible with a variety of setups and working styles.

Its four balanced XLR-1/4" combo inputs support mic- or line-level signals (including +4 dBu from high-end sound mixers). With individually switchable phantom power (24 or 48 V) and up to 63 dB gain, the low-noise HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture) microphone preamplifiers can be used for a wide variety of microphones, such as dynamic, ribbon or condenser microphones. A 3.5 mm mic/line input with selectable plug-in power is provided for situations that require recording a lavalier microphone or output from a wireless receiver. In addition, two 3.5 mm outputs are provided for simultaneous connection of camera and headphones. 

The DR-70D's two built-in condenser microphones allow stereo sound to be captured without the need for external microphones. The omnidirectional microphones respond to sound from all directions and are permanently separated in an A/B configuration, producing a wide, spherical pickup pattern.

To maximize compactness and portability, the DR-70D records directly to media cards (available separately). It is compatible with SD, SDHC and SDXC cards (with a capacity of up to 128 GB). In addition, it is ideal for tripod or camera use as it can be placed between a DSLR camera and a tripod or mounted on a cage or follow-focus equipment. Handles on the front left and right sides protect the screen and allow attachment of a shoulder belt. 

Each input features adjustable pan, level, limiting, polarity and up to 150 ms delay. Mitigate wind noise and low-frequency rumble by selecting the low-cut filter, which can be set at 40, 80, 120, 180 or 220 Hz. It also features a tone generator for file synchronization.

This recorder supports external remote control via the RC-3F footswitch or RC-10 wired remote control (both available separately); start/stop recording, make marks, increment tracks and more without having to touch the DR-70D.
