AJA's Hi5-12G-R-ST 12G-SDI to HDMI 2.0 Converter with ST fiber receiver converts a 12G-SDI or ST fibre input to HDMI 2.0 output. This converter can extend a 4K or 12G-SDI fiber signal up to 10km away, and features SDI loop-through output. It supports video up to DCI 4K (4096x2160) and UHD 4K (3840x2160). With support for up to DCI/UHD 4K60, HFRs (high frame rates) and HDR metadata generation.
The converter has an LED indicator that displays a colour depending on the input signal: blue for 12G-SDI, purple for 6G-SDI, amber for 3G-SDI, red for HD-SDI or green for SD-SDI. The USB port allows updating and configuration with the Mini-Config software.

The Hi5-12G can also generate HDR metadata in accordance with HDMI v2.0 and CTA-861-G. It features a 12G-SDI single link input with a reclocked SDI loop out for simpler SDI confidence monitoring or pass on for SDI pipelines.
This fiber SFP equipped Hi5-12G-R-ST receiver, which extends HDMI 4K signals over long distances from either an SDI or a Fiber connected source with the ST connector, being able to extend a 4K or 12G-SDI fiber signal up to 10km away.

HDR allows us to display brighter whites and much deeper and darker blacks than standard signals. Hi5-12G provides this support with its 4K/UltraHD/HD HDR streams to HDMI-compatible displays by generating HDR metadata in accordance with HDMI v2.0b/CTA-861-G. Hi5-12G also supports HDR Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) HDR displays over HDMI.
4K signals use a resolution of 4096x2160 pixels while UltraHD signals have a resolution of 3840x2160. This may prevent some monitors from being used in full 4K workflows or UltraHD workflows. Hi5-4K-Plus can compensate for these resolution differences, allowing UltraHD monitors to be used in 4K productions and vice versa.
Hi5-4K-Plus also supports high frame rate (HFR) inputs. 4K/UltraHD signals at 50 or 60 fps can be input to Hi5-4K-Plus and output up to 60p for viewing with suitable HDMI 2.0-capable displays.
Up to 16 channels of embedded SDI audio are supported on the input and can be switched to 8 channels of embedded HDMI audio on the output with the ability to delay the audio from 0 to 7 frames for proper synchronization with the output video. The two analog audio output channels allow direct external monitoring without the need to shell out for separate audio.
Mini-Config is free software from AJA that can be used with any USB-enabled AJA Mini-Converter. This software has a very intuitive graphical interface with extended information on current input and output formats.

*Hi5-12G devices use approximately 11 watts of power and convection cooling. They will be very warm to the touch, which is normal. When installing a unit, mount in a location where the device has access to air for proper cooling. Do not stack a Hi5-12G device with other Mini-Converters.
