The Eizo CG3146 has a DCI-4K resolution of 4096x2160, i.e. four times the pixels of Full-HD (1920x1080). This makes the monitor the ideal tool for 4K post-production and studio applications, as well as for 4K cinematography, and ideal for professional colourists. Its accurate and faithful colour reproduction across the entire luminance characteristic curve (EOTF) validates the CG3146 for the entire 4K production workflow in both HDR and SDR. The reference monitor supports Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) and Perceptual Quantization (PQ) curves for editing TV, film and other video content in HDR.

Exceptional picture quality

The CG3146 convinces with the highest resolution (4096x2160 (4K DCI)), a very good contrast ratio of 1000000:1 and a maximum brightness of 1000cd/m². This makes it possible, for example, to edit graphics and images with pixel precision. In addition, text outlines are clear and precise. The LCD module with dual-layer IPS (Wide Gamut) panel (Wide Gamut, 10 Bit) enables a wide viewing angle. This means that colour tones and contrasts remain stable in the user's viewing cone.

HDR gamma support

The CG3146 meets the standards required for viewing and editing HDR (High Dynamic Range) content with HLG and PQ tonal value curves. These are close to natural, human colour perception, thanks to optimised gamma curves. Production and post-production professionals can rely on the reliability of the display, with HDR tonal curves for colour grading and editing.

This factory calibration includes the common SDR and HDR standards. BT.2020, BT.709, DCI-P3, PQ_BT.2100, PQ_DCI-P3 and HLG_BT.2100, this Eizo monitor displays true HDR reference quality with no automatic brightness limiting or local dimming, so every pixel has the correct colour and brightness.

Gamma curves

This Eizo CG3146 colour correction monitor supports gamma curves for HDR video, including the HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) curve and the PQ (Perceptual Quantization) curve. Both curves are precisely calibrated to the reference class 1 level. The HLG curve is suitable for SDR displays and live TV broadcasts, while the PQ curve is used for movies, streaming and other video content, as it is closer to human perception of colour and brightness. Both gamma curves are standardised by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as ITU-R BT.2100, and the PQ curve is also recognised as standard ST-2084 by the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE).

Integrated sensor for self-calibration

With the integrated calibration sensor you achieve maximum colour accuracy. The sensor adapts perfectly to the monitor, takes environmental influences such as light into account and correlates the centre and edge of the image. This ensures a uniform result across the entire monitor. A reference monitor must be precisely adjusted for white point, colour and EOTF. This is the first HDR reference monitor equipped with an integrated meter that automatically recalibrates the monitor to the reference class level.

The sensor is located in the frame of the housing and is only extended to perform the measurement. Therefore, no external calibration device is required and the colour accuracy of the monitor is optimal at all times.

EIZO software for fast calibration and printing

Good image processing is only successful on well-calibrated monitors. The usual software calibration is time consuming and requires experience on the part of the user. The CG3146 is delivered with the hardware calibration software ColorNavigator. It can be carried out in a few steps even by users without in-depth knowledge. Advanced users can specify brightness, gamma and white point and other calibration settings numerically as target values. Since the calibration is performed via the monitor hardware, it is lossless and independent of the computer and graphics card. The CG3146 fits perfectly into an existing system.

Wide colour space

The wide colour gamut reproduces 99% of the DCI-P3 standard commonly used in post-production, allowing colours to be displayed faithfully.

Smooth transitions and gradients thanks to 24-bit LUT and 10-bit mode

The Eizo CG3146 offers a 10-bit* display based on a 24-bit look-up table (LUT), allowing more than one billion colours to be displayed. This provides finer colour gradations and smaller colour spacing (delta-E) between adjacent shades.

* This requires a graphics card and software that supports 10-bit display.

Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE)
Each individual monitor panel is accurately measured across its entire surface at the EIZO factory. Any inhomogeneities in brightness and color shades are detected and eliminated. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer, or DUE) ensures that identical colors always look the same throughout the lifetime of the monitor, regardless of where they are displayed. This is the only way to accurately edit and retouch images.

Stable color reproduction in only three minutes

With a conventional monitor, it takes at least 30 minutes for brightness, color type and tonal values to stabilize. In contrast, the Eizo CG319X ColorEdge takes only three minutes, so users can rely on reliable colors soon after turning on the monitor.

Accurate color reproduction thanks to high-resolution 3D LUTs

3D LUTs ensure the most precise tonal value assignment and an extremely accurate reproduction of color tones, which can be seen, among other things, in the gray ramp. In LCD displays, the brightness levels vary from module to module depending on the image signal and the mixing (addition) of red, green and blue colors. This can only be accurately measured and controlled with the help of particularly precise measuring devices. From the factory, EIZO adjusts each CG series monitor and its color and tone curve. This ensures a uniform color temperature across the entire grayscale. As a result, color reproduction is consistent, accurate and reliable on every CG3146.

Predefined colour modes

This Eizo CG3146 colour correction monitor provides quick access to all production standards via an OSD menu. Available modes are BT.2020, BT.709, DCI-P3, PQ_BT.2100, PQ_DCI-P3, HLG_BT.2100, Calibration and Sync Signal.

4K zoom

To assess detail and sharpness, you can quickly and easily zoom in on different areas of the monitor image by selecting them directly from the monitor menu.

High brightness warning

The brightness warning can be used to mark zones that exceed a certain brightness (300, 500, 1000 or 4000cd/m²) when using the PQ mode. These zones are optionally marked in yellow or magenta.

Gamut Alert

The gamut alert works in two modes: Rec.2020 image content that cannot be displayed in the Rec.709 color space is displayed in grayscale. Alternatively, the Rec.709 clipping mode simulates what Rec.2020 material would look like on high-definition televisions.

Blue-Only Function

This Eizo CG3146 provides a very useful function and that is a function to check the signal for noise. It displays a monochromatic signal using only the blue component of the input signal.

One monitor, many connections

It couldn't be easier: you can connect most of your end devices, such as PCs, laptops or cameras, directly to the CG3146 monitor, as it has different interfaces. In addition, there are four downstream USB ports and one upstream port.

In addition to SDI connections, this Eizo is equipped with a single-link SD 12G/6G/3G/3G/HD and dual or quad-link 3G/HD SDI connectors that allow direct input of 4K video signals.

Color Space Presets for Film and Video Production

The presets of the CG319X for the DCI-P3, Rec.709 and Rec 2020 color spaces are precisely calibrated at the factory and ensure that you work with the correct gamma values. In addition, the color modes for PQ (DCI and Rec.2100) and HLG (Rec.2100) for displaying HDR content are also preset at the factory. The color modes can be conveniently changed by pressing a button on the monitor and recalibrated with ColorNavigator if necessary.

One monitor, many connections

It couldn't be easier: you can connect most of your end devices, such as PCs, laptops or cameras, directly to the CG319X monitor, as it features different interfaces.

The CG319X supports various video formats up to 10-bit 4:4:4:4 at 50/60p via DisplayPort input and 10-bit 4:2:2 at 50/60 Hz via HDMI. Thus, the CG319X can not only integrate into PC-based workflows, but can also be used with HDMI sources.

No flickering

The monitor does not flicker at any brightness setting. The advantage: your eyes do not get tired as quickly. You can work on the screen for an extended period of time.

Light protection visor and carrying handles

The light protection visor reduces reflections and glare on the screen and is easy on the eyes. It is easy to fit and reduces the incidence of light from above and from the sides. In addition, the monitor has carrying handles on the back for easy transport.
