The Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 DI VC USD G2 is a new generation classic zoom with the latest improvements from the manufacturer. It features a brand new, all-new control system that achieves greater speed and accuracy by carrying its own MPU (microprocessor unit) with DSP (digital signal processing) blocks that are built in to enable high-speed digital signal processing.
The Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 features a stabilizer with dedicated MPU to achieve maximum compensation and make the stabilizer an important and accurate part of the lens assembly. Moving on to the inside of the lens it features Tamron's exclusive eBAND (Extended Bandwidth & Angular-Dependency, protective nano-treatment) and BBAR (Broad Anti-Reflective Coating) coating to try to eliminate ghosting and flare. A nanostructured coating and conventional multi-layer coatings provide superior anti-reflective properties.
The focusing motor is a revolution, called by Tamron USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive), is a high-power ultrasonic focusing motor for fast and dynamic imaging. On the other hand, it allows a silent and precise manual control at every moment. Something useful that not many manufacturers realize is the accidental loss of the hood, Tamron incorporates a lock that prevents uncoupling due to unintentional contact during use.
