The HA5-Fiber converts incoming video and audio into a standard 3G-SDI signal and sends it through the single-mode ST fiber optic terminal. Single-mode fiber offers long transmission distances, up to 10Km, without degradation or signal loss, and since the HA-5 Fiber converts to 3G-SDI at the source, no additional conversion equipment is required. Like other AJA converters, the HA-5 Fiber is compatible with Mini-Config software (available for free from the AJA website) for advanced configuration.
If you want to get back to the original HDMI signal you can use the HA5-Fiber, which performs the opposite conversion.

The small form factor enables this Mini-Converter to easily fit onto the back of a camera or neatly behind an equipment rack. Embedded 8-Channel audio is supported in the fiber output allowing a convenient single cable audio/video connection up to 10km. The HA5-Fiber also provides 2-Channel RCA style audio inputs for a stereo audio input when needed.
