The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 is the ideal solution when you need to place cameras where space is limited. It features a Micro Four Thirds mount and 4K sensor for shooting in low light conditions with cinematic colorimetry.
Designed for live production
The ultra-compact design of the Micro Studio Camera makes the camera unobtrusive, allowing it to be placed anywhere on set, which is very useful for sports events (e.g.: baskets, goals, ...). This allows filming from an unprecedented number of angles.
Because of its professional connections, this version of the studio camera is ideal for all types of work, e.g. talk shows, news bulletins, sports, educational material, etc. Although these models are designed for live production, their recordings can also be used with editing software, as they allow Blackmagic RAW files to be recorded on USB disks, for the purpose of editing and color grading at a later date.
Professional connections
This compact studio camera is compatible with many professional equipment. The 12G SDI connections allow you to transmit the images and the return signal, as well as to activate the tally signal, which makes it easy to prepare the unit before a job.Its HDMI connector offers the possibility to connect a monitor, such as the Blackmagic Video Assist model, to be able to change settings via the menus superimposed on the image or to check the position of a remote camera. On the other hand, the USB-C expansion port offers the opportunity to record to external disks (SSD) and control the unit via optional accessories or REST interfaces over a network by installing an Ethernet adapter. In addition, a 3.5 mm connection for microphones is included.
Two connection modes
This Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera can be connected in different ways. The HDMI connection allows you to use HDMI mixers (e.g. ATEM Mini), transmit the images, activate tally, control the cameras and start recording automatically via a single cable. SDI 12G technology allows you to connect mixers such as ATEM Constellation and send a signal back to the camera for control or communication, for example.

2. SDI connectivity
Two-way communication between the camera and the mixer via the main SDI output and the SDI input for the return signal, which also allows you to control the unit.
The most compact UHD professional studio camera
The Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2 features a Micro Four Thirds mount and a 4K sensor for recording in low light conditions with cinematic colorimetry. Although compact in size, it offers all the features of a larger studio camera. This camera has 12G SDI connections for HD and UHD signals with a maximum resolution of 2160p60. The SDI and HDMI ports allow color correction and lens control. And with a logarithmic tonal response curve, the Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K version delivers much more than optimal quality, making it easy to create cinematic aesthetics right out of the camera.
USB-C port for external drives and control via Ethernet networks
This studio camera includes a high-speed USB-C expansion port that allows the camera to be controlled over a network or to connect a wide variety of accessories and external disks. These disks can be connected to computers to process the footage without the need for prior copying, or an Ethernet adapter can be attached to the USB-C port so that the camera can be controlled over a network, using REST interfaces. It is even possible to add focus and focal length control systems, just like on larger studio cameras.
