In recent years, Laowa has surprised the market with some highly original optics that have received praise from filmmakers around the world.
 
In 2013, the company detected a demand for an affordable macro lens that would be capable of achieving high magnification to capture the details of the smallest insects, but would also be useful as a standard portrait lens. Thus, Laowa introduced its first product: the Laowa 60mm f/2.8 2X Ultra-Macro lens. It is the world's first 2:1 macro lens with a focusing range from the 2:1 magnification ratio to infinity.
 
Following the support they gained from film professionals, they launched another unique lens with the title of "world first": the Laowa 15mm f/4 wide-angle macro lens. It is the world's widest 1:1 macro lens.
 
Soon after, they announced the "Bokeh Dreamer" lens, the Laowa 105mm f/2 Smooth Trans Focus Lens.
 
After launching their three successful optics, they continued to create a large number of unique lenses on the market. Thus, in 2017, they launched the world's widest f/2 lens for Micro Four Thirds sensors, followed by another member of the Close-to-Zero Distortion range, Laowa 15mm f/2 Zero-D designed for Sony E mount.
 
In 2018, they launched Laowa 24mm F14 2x Macro Probe, a tubular lens with a focal length of 24mm and a magnification ratio of 2:1 that allows access to places impossible with traditional macro optics and waterproof.
