The Eizo CG2700X monitor has the huge pixel density of 164ppi thanks to the 3840x2160 (4K-UHD) resolution which ensures that visible pixels on the monitor are a thing of the past. The 27" IPS panel has a maximum brightness of 500cd/m² and achieves a contrast ratio of 1450:1. Movies can be evaluated, edited and graded with the CG2700X in full UHD resolution. The LCD module allows a 178-degree viewing angle and maintains stable color tones and contrasts in the user's viewing cone.

Wide Gamut Color Space

In order to utilize the full color spectrum of modern film and video cameras, you need a monitor with the widest possible color space, otherwise visual evaluation and processing of the saturated color tones contained in the file is not possible. That is why the IPS panel of the CG2700X ColorEdge covers, for example, the large AdobeRGB photographic color space as well as the ISO-Coated V2 CMYK print color space by more than 99 %. This means that the entire color spectrum of the cameras is represented unchanged and loss-free.

Smooth transitions and gradients thanks to 16bit LUT and 10bit panel

The LUT (Look-Up-Table) of the Eizo CG2700X calculates internally with an extremely high color depth of 16 bits, and the panel then outputs the signals with up to 10 bits. This means that billions of color tones are available to calculate the precise display of the monitor. In this way, display errors caused by the monitor, such as banding or clipping, which lead to broken tonal values in gradients or color casts in grayscales, are effectively avoided. Even nuances and fine structures in dark or highly saturated areas of the image are still displayed in a differentiated and detailed manner.

True Black

The CG2700X's high contrast ratio shows deep blacks, which often appear pale or washed out on a typical LCD monitor due to backlighting. This is especially true when viewing the monitor from the side in dimly lit rooms. The CG series is equipped with a retarder film for this purpose, which allows for this depth of black tones, even at wide viewing angles.

Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE)

The panel of each monitor is accurately measured, over its entire surface, at the EIZO factory. Any inhomogeneities in brightness or color shades are detected and eliminated. This process (Digital Uniformity Equalizer, or DUE) ensures that identical colors always look the same throughout the lifetime of the monitor, regardless of where they are displayed. This is the only way to accurately edit and retouch images.

Integrated calibration sensor

With the integrated calibration sensor in the CG2700X you achieve maximum color accuracy. The sensor adapts perfectly to the monitor, takes environmental influences such as light into account, and correlates the center and edge of the image. This ensures a uniform result across the entire monitor.

The sensor is located in the housing frame and only extends over the screen for measurement. Therefore, no external calibration device is required and the color accuracy of the monitor is optimal at all times.

The CG2700X is equipped with the latest sensor technology, which allows recalibration during operation. This allows you to continue working with non-color-critical applications while the monitor is being calibrated. The sensor only occupies a small space on the screen during calibration and therefore does not interfere. Calibration can also be performed fully automatically at definable times, even if the computer is turned off or not connected to the monitor at all.

Stable display thanks to industry-leading AI

To ensure that hue, color, brightness and other characteristics are always displayed accurately, even if the ambient temperature changes, the ColorEdge CG2700X is equipped with a temperature sensor. This accurately measures the temperature inside the monitor, while an AI (artificial intelligence)-assisted correction algorithm distinguishes between different patterns of temperature change and calculates an accurate correction in real time.

Stable color reproduction in just three minutes

With a conventional monitor, it takes at least 30 minutes for brightness, color type and tonal values to stabilize. In contrast, the CG2700X ColorEdge takes only three minutes, so users can rely on reliable colors soon after turning on the monitor.

Out of the factory ready to work

To ensure that a ColorEdge monitor is ready for use right out of the box, each CG2700X is individually measured and optimally adjusted at the factory. To do this, the gamma curves of the red, green and blue channels are thoroughly checked and, if necessary, corrected. This unique EIZO factory calibration allows the user to operate the monitor with the preset color spaces right out of the box. This elaborate factory calibration is also the reason why recalibration with ColorNavigator by the user is so fast.

EIZO software for fast calibration and printing

All monitors age and change their display properties. Therefore, graphics monitors, which require an absolutely constant image display throughout their lifetime, must be calibrated and corrected regularly. With EIZO's free ColorNavigator calibration software, the CG2700X ColorEdge can be easily and losslessly corrected within 90 seconds (measured with MacBook Pro and EX4). So the same image will still look the same on the monitor five years from now.

For users who want to calibrate multiple monitors in the company, EIZO offers the ColorNavigator Network tool. With it, the quality management of many ColorEdge monitors can be carried out centrally. Among other things, an administrator can deliver calibration targets to users and activate the automatic calibration of ColorEdge monitors of the CG series. With the help of a secure cloud server, offered by EIZO, it is possible to administer this centralized quality management across numerous locations or even continents.

EIZO Microchip

The CG2700X features a high-quality ASIC microchip that EIZO has developed especially for the special requirements of uniform color work. This microchip is the brain of every ColorEdge and the guarantee for the precise, uniform and consistent image display that EIZO is known for.

Accurate color reproduction thanks to high-resolution 3D LUTs

The 3D LUT ensures the most precise tonal value assignment and extremely accurate reproduction of color tones, which can be seen, among other things, in the gray ramp. In LCD displays, the brightness levels vary from module to module depending on the image signal and the mixing (addition) of red, green and blue colors. This can only be accurately measured and controlled with the help of particularly precise measuring devices. From the factory, EIZO adjusts each CG series monitor and its color and tone curve. This ensures a uniform color temperature across the entire grayscale. As a result, color reproduction is consistent, accurate and reliable on every CG2700X.

3D LUTs also offer advantages when working with film: With the help of the included ColorNavigator software, you can emulate the coloring of film material. You can see in advance how colors will be reproduced during playback. The 3D LUT also enhances the monitor's additive color mixing (mixing of red, green and blue). This is a key factor for the correct display of neutral gray tones.

HDR gamma

The ColorEdge CG2700X supports both gamma curves for HDR video: the HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) curve and the PQ (Perceptual Quantization) curve. Up to the maximum brightness of 120cd/m², the CG2700X thus guarantees a meaningful impression of the processed HDR material, so that an HDR reference monitor such as the ColorEdge CG3146 is usually only needed in the last step of production.

Color space presets for film and video production

Presets for the DCI-P3, BT.709 and BT.2020 color spaces are precisely calibrated at the factory and ensure that the correct gamma values are used. In addition, the color modes for PQ (DCI and BT.2100) and HLG (BT.2100) for displaying HDR content are also preset at the factory. The brightness settings for each preset can be conveniently adjusted and recalibrated thanks to the integrated calibration sensor. The HDR mode of Windows and MAC OSX is directly supported. Typical HDR video applications can thus be used very easily with the appropriate tone curve and the corresponding monitor setting.

Safety Area Markers

Ideal for subtitles and critical images, safety area markers let you know which area of the scene is displayed in which aspect ratio. You can immediately see whether subtitles, text or important image elements are in the visible area. You can adjust the color, size and aspect ratio of the marker so that it is clearly visible in all images.

Automatic color adjustments

For consistent color adjustments throughout the production process, the ColorEdge CG2700X offers a signal sync function that adjusts monitor settings, such as signal gamut and color format, to match the video signal.

Brightness alert

The high brightness warning can be used to mark zones that exceed a certain brightness (300, 500, 1000 or 4000cd/m²) when using PQ mode. These zones are optionally marked in yellow or magenta.

Gamut Alert

The gamut alert works in two modes: Rec.2020 image content that cannot be displayed in the Rec.709 color space is displayed in grayscale. Alternatively, the Rec.709 clipping mode simulates what Rec.2020 material would look like on high-definition televisions.

"Nearest Neighbor" interpolation setting

The Eizo CG2700X ColorEdge offers the "Nearest Neighbor" interpolation setting as an option for image scaling and resampling. With this scaling, "Nearest Neighbor" copies neighboring pixels while maintaining color fidelity. If "Nearest Neighbor" is disabled, color tones are interpolated between neighboring pixels, providing smoother transitions. Users can select the interpolation method that best suits the project for different resolutions.

Ideal for video and film editing: HDMI

Movies are normally recorded at 24fps, so when played back at 60Hz, as is common with monitors, they look unnatural. The monitor supports 24 and 60Hz frame rate, so you can view and edit your footage as it was recorded.

HDMI signals support 60, 50, 30, 30, 25 and 24Hz refresh rates. In addition, the monitor features I/P conversion between interlace and progressive.

4K zoom

To assess detail and sharpness, you can quickly and easily zoom in on different areas of the monitor image by selecting them directly from the monitor menu.

4K DCI cropping

The CG2700X's DCI 4K cropping feature allows users to display a DCI 4K (4096x2160) signal and crop the content outside the limits of the panel's native 4K UHD (3840x2160) resolution. Users can choose from three options that determine which part of the image is displayed..

Next-generation connectivity with USB-C

Image signal, USB data transfer, as well as power with up to 94W, all this and more can be realized with a single USB-C cable. The CG2700X ColorEdge thus becomes the central hub of the graphics workflow. Peripheral devices such as mouse, keyboard or printer can be connected directly to the USB-A ports. Mobile devices such as laptops or tablets can even be charged with up to 94W via the USB-C cable. In this way, a notebook and the CG2700X can become a fully-fledged desktop workstation in one quick step.

One monitor, many connections

The Eizo CG2700X supports a wide range of video formats via USB-C, HDMI and DisplayPort interfaces. This means that the monitor can not only be integrated into PC-based workflows, but can also be used with HDMI feeds.

LAN port

The monitor has a dedicated LAN port for a stable wired network connection. Simply connect laptops or PCs to the CG2700X via a USB cable to access the network signal through the monitor. This is especially advantageous for notebooks that no longer have a LAN connection. This enables fast and stable data transfer, as required for video conferencing, for example. As a network device, the monitor has its own MAC address.

Optionally, the EIZO MAC Address Clone Utility software for Windows can temporarily assign the MAC address of the connected PC to the monitor. This transparency ensures that authenticated PCs can access the network through the monitor.

KVM Switch

Operating multiple PCs with a single mouse and keyboard has never been easier. Via the USB ports, the CG2700X has an integrated KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) switch. The monitor automatically links the mouse and keyboard to the currently active source computer. This means, for example, that a desktop PC and a notebook or a business PC and a private PC can each operate with the same combination of monitor, mouse and keyboard, ensuring uninterrupted work and a tidy desktop.

Flicker-free and glare-free

The monitor does not flicker at any brightness setting. The advantage is that your eyes don't get tired as quickly. You can work on the screen for the long periods of time that image editing requires.

The CG2700X ColorEdge offers an optimal anti-reflective surface that minimizes reflections by scattering reflected light. The CG2700X effectively prevents glare and eye fatigue. In addition to reducing eye fatigue, one can sit comfortably in front of the monitor without a "forced position" to avoid glare.

Flexible stand

Eizo displays can be infinitely adjusted in height and, depending on the model, lowered to the very base of the stand. This allows for optimal ergonomics, whether you are standing or sitting in front of the screen. You can also swivel, tilt and tilt the monitor stand in the way that is most comfortable for your seated posture.

The CG2700X can also be rotated in portrait format, which is a great advantage for corded shots in portrait format in person shots, for example.

Light protection hood

The light protection cover reduces reflections and glare on the screen and is pleasant to the eye. It is easy to put on and reduces the incidence of light from above and the sides.

Guaranteed brightness and color reproduction

The CG2700X has a five-year color and brightness warranty from the date of purchase for 10000 operating hours with a maximum brightness of 120 cd/m2 and a color temperature between 5000 and 6500K.
