A pack of three
Laowa Nanomorph S35 Prime 3 anamorphic lenses has been designed, a pack that includes a
27mm, a
35mm and a
50mm. It is a trio of lenses that are perfectly matched not only for their focal length, which are complementary, but also for their filter diameter. In all three lenses it is 77mm and this provides enormous versatility when it comes to interchanging filters, filter holders and other accessories added to the lens.
All three
Laowa Nanomorph 27mm, 35mm and 50mm lenses feature a
1.5x anamorphic compression ratio, silver flare, meter and foot markings, 0.8 MOD cine gearing and ARRI
PL and Canon
EF mounts.
The
diaphragm aperture on the 35mm and 50mm is the same,
T2.4. Being a large aperture is a great advantage when working indoors in low light conditions or working in low light for creative reasons. Also, a large aperture will give you the opportunity to create scenes with shallow depth of field where you want to isolate the subject from the background. The 27mm, however, with an aperture of T.2.8, is half a step smaller than the other two focal lengths but can also be efficient in low light conditions.
The lenses have an optical construction of 15 elements in 13 groups. All three lenses are made for
Super35 sensors so there is a wide variety of cameras that can use them.
