The Roland V-40HD multi-format video mixer is a true multi-format mixer, in other words, it does not require input sources to be matched to output resolutions. Each input has its own video scaler, which can reduce, extend, crop and zoom each source to match the chosen output resolution. The Multi-Zoom function causes a video input to be shared internally with up to three inputs. The scaler on each input can zoom to any part of the image to give the appearance that additional cameras are connected, creating a virtual multi-camera environment.
Signal processing is 4:4:4/10bits on input and 4:2:2/8bits on output. It includes a downstream keyer for logos and text, audio input bus for inserting audio into HDMI and audio delay adjustment for perfect lip-sync. It is possible to control the video mixer via MIDI or RS-232C.
