MONARCH EDGE SERIES. ENCODER 4K / MULTI-HD REMOTE PRODUCTION MDG4/E8/I

Streaming 4K/MultiHD 4:2:0 8bit H.264 encoder for Internet streaming and remote production
. It offers a broadcast quality of 4 channels 4:2:0 of 8 bits, thanks to its 4 SDI inputs (1x 12G-SDI + 3x 3G-SDI). In HD transmissions, it has enough encoding power to simultaneously generate low-bit-rate 4:2:0 proxy streams for each input, which can be monitored by any device on the network. Its 8-bit H.264 encoding engine keeps data rates exceptionally low without sacrificing quality. If quality is a priority, frame streams of up to 120 Mbps can be delivered. Each input can be transmitted at resolutions up to 1080p60 and the scaling and deinterlacing engines can perform multiple processes on each input, allowing each input to be transmitted at multiple resolutions and bit rates simultaneously, with an encoding latency of only 50ms between the uncompressed video input and the compressed video output, achieving some of the lowest compression latencies on the market.

A variety of streaming protocols are available to Monarch EDGE users. In closed networks, MPEG-2 TS or RTSP streams can be selected for delivery. For cloud-based destinations, or when the network is congested, SRT may be more appropriate. SRT is a new open source format that provides the reliability of the RTMP, while reducing latency, for use on open networks. SRT streams can also be encrypted if security is a concern.

Monarch EDGE offers flexible and future-proof connectivity with 3G, 12G SDI and ST 2110 over 25 GbE. The inputs are auto-detectable and allow a wide range of connectivity for devices such as cameras, switches, vision mixers or routers. It allows you to preview up to 4 simultaneous input views on a single monitor. Monarch EDGE is also capable of accessing 16 channels of embedded audio per input. Up to four stereo pairs per input can be encoded. Alternatively, professional analog stereo audio can be selected from balanced XLR connections.

Monarch EDGE Control Hub is a powerful application that provides remote control management and configuration on all encoders connected to the network from a central location. This powerful software provides authorized users with high-level views of all network devices and allows full access and control from a single, easy-to-use interface. It also allows users to configure how they would like to preview incoming audio sources. Users can choose to monitor one or mute the DisplayPort audio output.

It has an LCD screen on the front allowing the user to quickly access its status and settings. A lockable power connector protects against loss of connection during production. Redundant Ethernet ports (1 GbE) allow you to control the device from one port while sending video from a second port. Users can choose to send the same streams from each port by taking completely separate network paths. Finally, Monarch EDGE's compact design ensures that it can be installed on a fly-pack, a mobile unit, or with a second Monarch EDGE unit in a 1RU space.
