The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 3x3G bidirectional allows you to connect SDI equipment to IP systems and vice versa, using the 10G Ethernet connection. It is capable of processing three channels simultaneously, which can receive and transmit signals at the same time, so you can connect up to six different SDI devices. All 3G SDI inputs have looping outputs that make it easy to connect the converter in series within an SDI system. It also includes a reference output synchronized with the 2110 PTP clock. In addition, the elegant front panel features a color LCD display that makes it easy to monitor images, access menus or diagnose errors. It even offers the opportunity to distribute IP sources.
Rack-mountable for broadcast systems
This Blackmagic converter has been developed so that you can integrate any 3G SDI equipment into 2110 IP broadcast systems. Its modular design allows it to be installed in racks, next to the devices whose signals need to be converted. The Universal Rack Shelf provides the ability to place up to three Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 3x3G side-by-side, giving you nine independent input and nine independent output channels in a space of just 1RU. The units can be controlled via Ethernet and are capable of processing signals from a wide range of equipment such as mixers, recorders, playout servers and webcast processors.
Compact modular design
The front panel, with an LCD display, not only allows you to change settings at any time, but also to monitor received and transmitted signals, as well as diagnose errors in more complex 2110 IP transmission systems. The menus give you the ability to select the IP source for each of the 3G SDI inputs, just like in a matrix switcher. On the other hand, the ventilation system of the units prevents overheating of the units, even when installed next to each other. At the same time, the converter can be powered by AC power or PoE+.
10G Ethernet for multiple SMPTE 2110 IP channels
The converter meets the specifications of the SMPTE ST2110 standard for transmission, synchronization and description of audio, images and ancillary data over IP networks. In addition, it can synchronize all IP sources with a common PTP clock, or external devices with the output for reference signals generated by this clock. It can transmit uncompressed images (SMPTE-2110-20), audio (SMPTE-2110-30) and ancillary data (SMPTE-2110-40), as well as shape and synchronize data traffic (SMPTE-2110-21) and provides the ability to distribute information to multiple users from a single point.
NMOS protocol for creating virtual switches
The compatibility of these Blackmagic converters with the NMOS interface specifications allows all equipment connected to a 2110 IP network to function as one large virtual matrix. The Videohub Smart Control device provides the ability to map sources to destinations using this protocol, which describes how such equipment, such as cards, are detected and controlled on an IP network. Compliance with the IS-04 and IS-05 specifications facilitates the discovery and registration of audiovisual devices in these networks and the management of their connection, respectively. In this way, it is possible to connect sources to destinations just as through a traditional SDI switching matrix.
Change settings and update remotely
With a large number of devices in a complex transmission system, it is essential to be able to control them remotely in order to diagnose errors, change settings and update them. This is possible through the free management program, available for Mac and Windows. The computer on which the software is installed can be connected to the converter via the front USB port or Ethernet connection over an IP network, making it easy to update all units from a single computer when they are located in different places.
Compatible with all formats up to 1080p60
The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter's 3G SDI connections support standard definition and high definition signals, allowing you to connect SDI equipment to systems based on an IP infrastructure. These converters support 525i59.94 and 625i50 formats as well as 720p, 1080i and 1080p, up to 60f/s. Switching from one format to another is not complex, as each channel does it independently, which offers the possibility of processing three different formats at the same time.
Professional 10-bit quality
The Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter provides support for high quality images. In broadcast, 10-bit color depth is generally used, as colors are represented four times more accurately than 8-bit signals. The captured images are a perfect copy of the original SDI source, pixel for pixel, without any loss of detail, allowing the best possible quality to be achieved. This not only avoids loss of detail, but also gives you the opportunity to achieve perfect green background compositions and sharp titles, as well as better color matching. The automatic resynchronization function facilitates the transmission of a regenerated SDI signal with very low jitter to all devices in the studio.
Flexible and fail-safe power supply
The modular design of the Blackmagic 2110 IP Converter 3x3G includes an AC power supply, eliminating the need for external transformers. It is only necessary to connect the equipment to a mains power supply. The universal power supply is capable of automatically detecting the voltage (110-240V), making it easy to use the converter anywhere in the world. You can also power the device via the Ethernet connection by connecting it to a PoE+ compatible switch. This way, the converter will work even if the power cable is not connected to the mains, providing a backup system in case of failure.
