The Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G is designed for a smooth, wide frequency response curve, with crisp highs and deep, powerful bass. The unit is powerful and loud enough to hear audio in noisy environments such as broadcast equipment rooms.
The two large, bright audio level meters on the front panel feature multi-coloured RGB LEDs in each segment. You can select between VU or PPM or loudness scales, with the option of EBU or BBC meters. With many measurement segments, you can monitor a very wide dynamic range of -45 to +3dB, -12 to +12dB, or 0 to 7dB, depending on the scale. In addition, you can measure loudness, using the standard K-weighted loudness relative to full scale (LKFS) to normalise levels for broadcast TV and video. The bright audio level meters are clear enough to read in bright or dark environments.
The machined metal design is extremely robust. This allows for a robust chassis, which produces better quality sound without rattles and vibrations. The front panel features audio level meters, an LCD video monitor and a reliable non-contact volume control, to prevent audio deterioration and popping when adjusting. For selecting audio pairs, left and right solo, mute and cue, there is a built-in illuminated keypad and, for private monitoring, there is a built-in headphone jack.
Blackmagic Audio Monitor 12G supports all common SD, HD and UltraHD video resolutions. The 12G-SDI input and HDMI 2.0 output also support UltraHD high resolution monitoring. 12G-SDI allows you to work with resolutions and frame rates up to 2160p at 60fps, over a single cable. You can connect to UltraHD TVs and projectors with 4K HDMI, and you can monitor any of the 16 audio channels on the 12G-SDI input.
