The Blackmagic Design DeckLink IP HD Optical capture card offers the easiest way to capture and playback audio and video over IP transmission systems using the SMPTE 2110 protocol. It includes the same features as the other DeckLink models, providing compatibility with a wide range of software. With three channels capable of capturing or playing back content simultaneously, DeckLink IP HD Optical makes it easy to create servers that can generate professional graphics and virtual scenarios or process images using artificial intelligence, with the help of the GPU, directly integrated into an SMPTE 2110 infrastructure. DaVinci Resolve can even be used in editing rigs with these systems. In addition, the high-speed PCIe connection supports the use of Mac Pro, Windows or Linux devices.

10G Ethernet for multiple SMPTE 2110 channels

DeckLink IP HD Optical cards comply with the SMPTE ST2110 standard specifications for transmission, synchronisation and description of audio, images and ancillary data over IP networks. In addition, they keep sources synchronised via a common PTP clock and allow uncompressed images (SMPTE-2110-20), audio (SMPTE-2110-30) and ancillary data (SMPTE-2110-40) to be transmitted, as well as conform and synchronise data traffic (SMPTE-2110-21). The advantage of these standards is that all signals are transmitted independently over the network. In turn, these cards provide the ability to distribute information to multiple users from a single point

Integrated firewall for total security

The problem with computer equipment in 2110 IP networks is that it is vulnerable to malware or hackers, as anyone can transmit data over the Ethernet connection. However, DeckLink IP HD Optical cards avoid this problem by using a buffer that acts as a firewall. In this way, the Ethernet port only transmits audio and images. As with the other DeckLink models, the data is transferred to this buffer, which manages the playback of the images and converts the information for transmission over the 2110 IP channels. As a result, it is impossible to access the network directly.

Four-lane PCIe connection

The high-speed PCIex4 interface allows for high-definition multi-channel processing, as well as simultaneous capture and playback of streams across multiple channels. This connection not only provides minimal latency, but also precise synchronisation with capture and playback programs. Only DeckLink IP HD Optical cards offer such performance over a cost-effective connection. Consequently, they can be installed in compact and inexpensive computer equipment. In addition, the low profile of the DeckLink IP HD Optical models facilitates their use in modular servers.

All formats up to 1080p60 are supported

DeckLink IP HD Optical cards support all standard definition and high definition formats. These cards support 525i59.94, 625i50 and 720p formats, as well as 1080i and 1080p, at a maximum rate of 60fps. Switching from one format to another is not complex, as it is done instantly.

Professional 10-bit quality

DeckLink IP HD Optical cards are designed to support high quality images. To this end, they can capture and play back signals in formats such as ProRes, DNxHD or even uncompressed 10-bit, thus offering a wide range of possibilities. In broadcasting, 10-bit colour depth is generally used, as it allows colours to be represented four times more accurately than 8-bit signals. The captured images are a perfect copy of the original, pixel for pixel, without any loss of detail, which gives the opportunity to obtain the best possible quality. This allows for outstanding overlays on green backgrounds, sharper compositions with visual effects and better colour adjustments.

NMOS protocol for creating virtual routers

The DeckLink IP HD Optical cards' support for NMOS interface specifications allows all equipment connected to a 2110 IP network to function as one large virtual router. In addition, the Videohub Smart Control device provides the ability to map sources to destinations using this protocol, which describes how such equipment, such as cards, are detected and controlled on an IP network. Furthermore, compliance with the IS-04 and IS-05 specifications facilitates the discovery and registration of AV devices on these networks and the management of their connection, respectively. In this way, it is possible to connect sources to destinations in the same way as via a traditional switching matrix.

Compatible with all popular editing software

DeckLink IP HD Optical cards are compatible with the most popular editing software, giving you the freedom to use your favourite tools. They're ideal for editing and colour grading with DaVinci Resolve, and because you can capture and playback sequences simultaneously, you can receive your footage, apply colour adjustments on the fly, and stream it back. These cards also work with other software such as Final Cut Pro, Media Composer and Premiere Pro. In addition, extraordinary special effects can be created with Fusion, After Effects and Photoshop. A WDM driver for Windows is also included.

Compatible with DaVinci Resolve

DeckLink IP HD Optical cards are ideal for working with DaVinci Resolve, which offers tools for editing, colour grading, visual effects and Hollywood quality audio mixing in a single program. In addition to being compatible with Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems, it is completely free and requires no monthly licensing fees. Editing is done using a familiar track system, with a host of features for exceptional cuts and transitions, or adding effects and title templates. Professional colour adjustments can then be applied. DaVinci Resolve supports 32-bit floating point YRGB processing and gives you the ability to implement primary and secondary corrections, create masks, track 3D objects and apply artificial intelligence.

Superb tools for professional graphics

When creating professional titles and graphics, you'll want to use the same tools that are familiar to graphic designers to achieve the highest level of creativity without the need for training. DeckLink IP HD Optical cards provide support for After Effects and Photoshop, as well as Fusion, whose visual effects capabilities are built right into DaVinci Resolve. Fusion Studio's nodal interface enables compositing in 2D and 3D environments, as well as hundreds of effects. Fusion is available for free as part of DaVinci Resolve. Blackmagic Media Express software, included with the cards, makes it easy to capture and playback media that can be used in Fusion, After Effects or Photoshop.

Customised automation servers

When you need to remotely broadcast the programming of a TV station or channel, DeckLink IP HD Optical cards can be easily integrated into any custom automation system. A wide range of unique solutions are available, and on Mac computers, Tools On Air just: Broadcast Suite, Softron OnTheAir, MovieRecorder and OnTheAir CG can be used. For Windows, the various models offer support for Vidblaster X, Studio and Broadcast, Uniplay and Playbox AirBox. These programmes work in conjunction with DeckLink IP HD Optical cards to handle all types of automation tasks and are currently used by thousands of TV stations worldwide.

Streaming servers to broadcast content globally

DeckLink IP HD Optical works in the same way as other DeckLink cards and is therefore fully compatible with the most popular streaming programmes. This makes it possible to create streaming teams for the purpose of sharing content with millions of viewers around the world. On Mac systems, it is possible to use various solutions such as Open Broadcaster, Wirecast and Livestream Producer, or Open Broadcaster, Xsplit Broadcaster, Wirecast and Livestream Producer on Windows. With the DeckLink IP HD cards, any SMPTE 2110 signal can be streamed live across as many online platforms as required. At the same time, the ATEM Streaming Bridge device facilitates the connection of remote broadcast networks.
