The Sigma 28mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art is a wide field of view lens that suits all types of situations, from street to landscape photography offering a larger angle of view than the Sgima 35mm. The fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 is ideal for working in low light conditions and also offers greater control over the focus position when using shallow depth of field techniques. Its minimum aperture of f/16, in night photography, will allow the photographer to create starburst effects, unleashing the photographer's creativity. This lens includes two low F-dispersion (FLD) and three special low dispersion (SLD) elements, as well as aspherical elements to reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations and color fringing for clarity and sharpness.
The electromagnetic aperture mechanism provides greater stability in exposure control, which is especially beneficial when working at fast continuous shooting rates.
It features a hypersonic HSM motor to produce fast, smooth and quiet autofocus performance that is complemented by an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. HSM also enables full-time manual focus control by simply turning the focus ring at any time. In addition, a rounded nine-blade diaphragm contributes to capturing images with an attractive bokeh effect.
This lens, like the others in the ART range, has a water and oil repellent coating on the front lens and together with its dust and splash resistant structure makes it a versatile lens in any situation (both indoors and outdoors). As for its bayonet, its treated surface and improved resistance contribute to the exceptional durability of this lens.
