Compact SDI router with support for 12G-SDI/6G-SDI/3G-SDI/1.5G-SDI with 16x 12G-SDI inputs and 16x 12G-SDI outputs. Provides powerful signal control and supports full broadcast specifications over SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI, with quality that exceeds SMPTE specifications. The super-compact 1RU format with a few inches deep, makes it a perfect fit for any broadcast, production, or post production environment, from mobile sports trucks and edit suites, through to corporate video installations or live theatrical A/V rigs.
KUMO’s powerful cross-point routing matrix maps any input to any number of outputs without the need for additional patch panels or distribution amplifiers. As 8K emerges and 4K/UltraHD workflows continue to gain ground, KUMO routers can meet the rising challenge. KUMO 12G-SDI routers offer single-link cable simplicity for 4K/UltraHD and with a simple setting change, KUMO 12G-SDI routers can be configured for ganged dual-link or quad-link grouping allowing users to group together multiple inputs and outputs for 8K workflows and similarly, KUMO 3G-SDI routers for dual or quad-link 4K/UltraHD workflows. This allows routing of raw or 8K or 4K/UltraHD signals throughout a production, live event, OB truck or post facility.
KUMO 12G-SDI routers support large format resolutions, high frame rate (HFR) and deep color formats, while reducing cable runs when transporting 4K/UltraHD over SDI. The routers offer network-based and/or physical control, and mirror the physical form of AJA’s production-proven KUMO 3232 and KUMO 1616 routers, with a new USB port for configuring IP addresses via AJA’s eMini-Setup software. Built to the same quality standards as all AJA KUMO products, KUMO 1616-12G is the ideal choice for any situation where a balance of size and capacity are critical such as mid-sized post facilities and mobile trucks.
New salvos support simplifies switching operations by recalling multiple sources to specific destinations. Salvos are stored in a KUMO router and can be recalled via the KUMO router’s Web UI, GVG Native Protocol over Ethernet, RS-232, and/or the AJA KUMO CP2 Salvos buttons. Eight Salvos can be configured and stored in each KUMO router. Salvos allow the operator to quickly recall predefined sources to specific destinations configurations with a simple button press.
